Packaging Design

There are millions of products on the market in thousands of different areas- all looking to be picked up and put in the basket.

Everyone knows the saying, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’, but it’s the cover that attracts the person to the book in the first place. The same way a buyer is attracted to the product by its packaging.

Say a woman was looking for a new bottle of shampoo that would banish the frizz from her wild and curly locks, and there were two left on the shelf. One was in a sleek, gold, cylinder bottle, the bottle reads ‘Just Like Silk Shampoo for untamed hair’ in a seamless joined up font. The other was in a leopard-print, triangular shaped bottle that reads, ‘Smooth Shampoo for wild hair’ in a bold black font. Which one would get picked?

Designing product packaging is more than just making a product look pretty, stylish or ultra-modern, it’s about matching the design to what the customer is looking for. Good packaging design is like dressing a product to suit its personality.

Competition in retail outlets can be tough, there are 360 shampoos listed on the Boots website alone, and the customer is looking to buy just one. With many years’ experience in designing perfect packaging we will work closely with you to provide a concept that is right for you, your target market and your product.
